John and I are sorting through an archive of old family photos, many dating back to the mid-late 1800s. These have fascinated me, the clarity of most of them is extraordinary for glass plate photography.
I have started a collection of drawings from these, letting the ‘talk’ to me. Some of these are labelled, most are not. Uncovering the mystery of who they are is all a part of the fun.
I have drawn six of women from these, some of which I have used as illustrations for characters in The Attic.
