New beginnings for us, for the family home and for the new family who will make it their home too. This house was built in 1906, and has been in John’s family since 1945. His Great-great Aunt Lilian Page ran a boarding house until her departure into Spirit in 1973. Born in 1888, she was aged 85 years. Many local newly wed’s had this as their first home.
John’s Mum (Fay) and Dad (known by all as Rob!) made it their family home for over 50 years. As the family grew up, Fay’s Make A Drape was Fay’s home-based business, started in the two rooms at the front of the house, converted by Rob into sewing and cutting rooms, where they made curtains and blinds for many of the local homes and businesses. Fay made her last curtains in 2024 at the age of 88.
Multiple generations of the family have fond memories woven into the walls of this beautiful old villa, that will now be creating new stories with a new family.

In between sorting, packing and preparing for our road trip south, I am redesigning our website and a travel blog. Watch this space!
Thank you for your patience and being a part of our adventures.
