A New Chapter.

Yesterday was a long day, packing the last of our belongings into our storage unit (www.timsstoragelockups.co.nz), we said our goodbyes to our cafe family at Beyond Coffee & Restaurant Feilding, and our family at Palmerston North. With Henry our faithful car packed to the rafters, we started our road trip south.

The last couple of weeks have been busy but easy as we prepared physically for this new chapter in our lives. John’s family have lived in this house for 80 years. And now the house will be home for a new family and business. In 1945 John’s great-aunt Lilian Page ran a boarding house until her passing over in 1973, when John’s family moved in. John’s dad Rob was a plaster, concreter, bricklayer, and Fay’s Make A Drape ran from the front rooms of the house for many years, and until recently. John and I got to display our artwork for a short time and now there will be artists of a different kind in residence.

A big thank you to John Cox of Unique Realty, Professional Feilding, for his down to earth, relaxed and professional manner in the sale of 142 Manchester Street. To the staff of Beyond Coffee, for always accommodating us almost daily with a space to write draw and kept us fed and watered. And to Mel & Nicky at The Vintage Kitchen – always a good place to stop on the way home from town. All 250m’s! Having a coffee cart across the road from where you live takes a lot of discipline!

And now, the road trip South…
