Wedged between our belongs is our new travel buddy, yet be named! A gift from our dear friend Del, who is an amazing inspiration. Since we met almost 6 years ago, Del had been taking her dogs for a walk in her motorised wheelchair. But this year things have changed for her and before we left, she came to visit us with this gift, walking down our driveway and up the steps onto our verandah! A new leg has given her a new lease of life. My heart sings and I still cry tears of joy every time I see her walking. Such a good feeling.
We arrived at Greytown, Wairarapa, last night to stay at Asure Oak Estate Motor Lodge for 2 nights and catch our breath. Murray and Yvette always take care of us, providing a home away from home and are located walking distance to town through beautiful homes and gardens. Greytown has much to offer. With the beautiful back drop of the Rimutaka Ranges and the old world character of the town makes it an enjoyable experience to wander around the shops, offering a great variety of stores, restaurants, pubs and cafes. Walking trails, including a heritage walking trail around the town of historical buildings are all easily accessible.

Delicious breakfast at Cahoots Cafe, one of our favourite places for good coffee and food, and a laugh with Kerry and Richard.
Tomorrow we drive over the Rimutaka Ranges to Wellington and catch the Bluebridge Ferry across the Cook Strait to Picton. It has been 6 years since we last did this trip. Forecast for a smooth sailing is on the cards.
