With morning coffee, I do my Morning Pages (Julia Cameron – the Artist’s Way), writing exercise, and John draws. Both are good ways to connect with the artist within, and bring creative energy into our day. When I write in the morning, it clears my mind and the day flows. On the occasional (and now rare) times that, for whatever reason, I don’t get to write, I really notice the difference of how things unfold that day – not so good!
The other helpful tool is pre-paving, stating the outcome you want for any particular event or task before you begin it. This even works for the grocery shopping. Like asking the parking angels for the best carpark, I ask for easy carpark, nice encounters with others, finding everything we want and perfect timing at the checkout – no queues. Have fun with it. Makes going to the supermarket more interesting and fun!
