Its always a little sad when we start to pack up. After being in one location of over 5 weeks, you get to know people and a good sense of a place. Blenheim is a town that has captured our hearts. Friendly, safe, relaxed and welcoming. No traffic lights and cars actually stop to let you cross the road, even if there isn’t a crossing. And sunshine, lots of sunshine. The Taylor River meanders through town, the boardwalk is just beautiful and the water is crystal clear.

We have met some wonderful people, and some very special encounters. Even when buying our ‘new’ car – we had travelled over 200,00kms in our trusty steed “Henry” who has now been upgraded. Thank you Matthew at Mayfield Motorworld Blenheim, more than just a car salesman! http://www.mayfieldmotorworld.co.nz

Yesterday we discovered a magical little shop in Renwick – Angela’s Hubble Bubble Little Emporium, Crystal Shop. On the corner of Alma and Havelock Streets, Renwick. Treat yourself or someone you love. You can find her on Facebook.

This morning we had breakfast at The Little Cafe, 11 Charles Street, Blenheim. It has been our regular morning coffee spot. We love the laughter, banter and conversations here and of course the date scones – yummo! Today Hayley made our ‘always good heart-starter” coffees and Richard created an exceptional breakfast – Salmon, spinach, pesto and cream cheese omelette and salad. First class food in this humble little cafe with such a big heart! Thank you!!

Find them on Facebook.

I was too busy enjoying the food to think to take a picture of it! An empty plate says it all!

Also a big thank you to: http://www.kiwihousesitters.co.nz for providing such a valuable network service.
