Accessing the creative mind.
Playing with simple colours. Some days my mind wants to jump in and use some new technique I may have studied – it never works out like the tutors example! However, what I am realising is – my mind takes this information in and creates a tool for me to use intuitively. So I have learnt to take a moment and stare at the blank page before touching any paint and allow the picture to reveal itself to me. It is so refreshing to do this after working with the detailed work involved with drawing my portraits.
I had been consistent with my daily painting journal, until we moved locations last week. That transition involved a little organising – ferry and accommodation bookings, and settling in to the different energy of another housesit. Even though this property is familiar, a lot has changed since we were last here in December-January.
Lexie’s physical presence is missed, but now when I sit on the park bench at the lookout in the garden, I can feel her sitting next to me. She loved to stop here with us on our morning walk, and over look the working farm below. Now when I stop here and sit in the quiet of the morning with her buddy Louis and my buddy John, I can feel Lexie’s presence with us.

Forever in our hearts – thank you Lexie.
