We discovered a beautiful story about a young girl who had to see her horse at the sales because her dad had died in the Korean War and the farm was to be sold due to foreclosure. John Wayne was at the sales looking for horses for movies and he saw this girl. On hearing her story, he bid for the horse, and handed it back to her. Unbeknown to her, he had also heard about her situation and paid out the loan for the family. The story touched our hearts and inspired us both to draw a scene from it. And has started John on a new topic – watch this space!
